From strategy to execution, throughout the asset lifecycle
Aging assets are a concern for any business. That’s why we created an asset management framework that is driven by data - giving our clients the insight they need for their capital and maintenance investment plans.
Our certified asset management assessors (CAMA) work with our engineers, economists, and statisticians to deliver robust, accurate, and justifiable technical and economic insights that empower companies to manage their assets optimally.
We focus on continuous improvement and cost efficiencies, helping companies appropriately prioritize how time and money is spent in fixing critical problems with their assets.

METSCO aligns your organization with the international standard for asset management.
Optimizing asset performance is a core objective for all our projects. We provide clients with a broad overview of asset performance, as well as detailed, asset-level analytics down to the most granular of levels (e.g. project, feeder, or system level).
Our experts pioneered the asset condition assessment (ACA) framework and the production of the Health Index - designed to quantify the condition of assets based upon in-field visual inspection, testing and monitoring data.
Our industry knowledge, maintenance practices, and consultant experience all come together to determine the end-of-life criteria for your assets. Better yet, we consolidate and compile all of this information into one dashboard – a single source of truth about your asset performance.

from manual processes.
Our asset management frameworks consider age, condition, failure probability and criticality, and more, to continuously determine quantified risks of failure for assets within your system. This risk is then balanced against the investment cost necessary to mitigate it, so the economic end-of-life criteria can be determined for assets and inform vital processes like spare management.
The insight our framework captures can be leveraged to solve discrete system-level or asset-level issues, and support root-cause failure analysis and post-mortem investigations. Companies can also validate results against in-field findings during project executions.
By designing our framework with this ‘full-circle’ philosophy in mind, we can achieve what we set out to in all projects - continuous improvement.
We have designed our asset management frameworks to spur a continuous cycle that optimizes the overall performance of your organization.Client Reviews / Testimonials

A large Northern generation, transmission & distribution utility needed to develop a right-sized asset management (AM) framework which consisted of collecting data, developing processes and frameworks and documenting asset plans to efficiently optimize their capital and O&M asset strategies.
Underground cables introduce greater risks and complexities versus other distribution assets, due to the limited ability to visually inspect cables, along with the high cost to replace these assets when they reach end-of-life. Recognizing the importance for utilities to be able to proactively forecast when underground cable will fail and when replacements must take place, CEATI wanted to develop a guide for instructing utilities how to derive failure probability functions for underground cables leveraging their own available data.
EPCOR wanted to gain a better understanding of its distribution assets’ lifespans, predicting when they might fail and the potential cost implications to put appropriate capital investment plans in place. METSCO’s expert asset management team came on board to help the Edmonton utility provider not only evaluate the current state of its assets, but also use an innovative risk methodology to establish a reliability projection for the next 10 years that would help EPCOR to continue serving its Albertan community.
