Grounding Systems

This course is designed for engineers and technical staff. The purpose of the grounding system is to provide a sufficiently low-impedance path to ground during normal or fault conditions to permit reliable operation of the circuit protective devices and to maintain step and touch potentials within safe acceptable limits. Well-designed grounding system ensures safety and protects against excessive step and touch potentials for workers performing tasks around transmission or distribution system.
